The ride of your life

"Your job is to accept the reality of divine order and allow it to guide your life. How would you function in your life if you knew that every situation was going to work out perfectly? Your first reaction would be to stop worrying about outcomes or how this person or that situation would affect a specific outcome. You could relax and enjoy the journey, knowing that the perfect outcome was assured.
This, of course, is exactly the case. Divine order and your unity with me assure it. Try looking at a specific situation as a thrill ride at an amusement park. The ride might be turbulent and scary, and it might even cause your physical body to become ill, but at the end, your safety would be assured. Once you became assured of your safety, you could ride again and again, and enjoy the thrills each time in the knowledge that they would not last and that you were being protected.
This is a very appropriate analogy. If you can accept that there is a perfect plan for your life, that there is good in every situation, and that the perfect outcome is assured because you are in divine order, then you can enjoy the turbulence and the surprises, for the uncertainty of it all is only an illusion.
Have fun with life. It is meant to be enjoyed. Accept the reality that all is well, and peacefully and joyously enjoy the ride."

What's Holding You Back from Starting Over?

What's Holding You Back from Starting Over?
  By Diana Todd-Banks
------------------------------------------------------------
Has life dropped a big ball and chain around your feet? Do you feel like you're sleep walking through life, unable to move frozen with some form of fear, fear about the future, fear about Starting Over and how to positively move forward?

Yes, it is an uncomfortable place to be, but the good news is, regardless of your age 35 or 70, all that can be changed.
Today, with so many social pressures often experienced through some form of loss, like the impact of GFC, it's not uncommon for people to grapple with mental gremlins and blocks that hold them back from Starting Over.

While some of those mental blocks could have been there since childhood they can become more pronounced when some big loss occurs -- be it financial, job, career, loss of a loved one, divorce.

However, we were not born with those blocks, those fears, rather for a variety of reasons we gather them along the way during our life, up to now.
With that in mind, let's do a little visualizing.
What do you wish you could do if there were no limitations, if you had no gremlins or blocks whatsoever, and you knew you could not fail?
Do you have a little voice deep down that says...
"Oh I'd love to do something new."
"I desperately want to change my life."
"I really want to write a book."
"I want to start a new career."
"I want to earn money again."
"I want to live life again."
"I desperately want to Start Over."

When you begin thinking, wishing, and dreaming this way do any little mental demons creep or even instantly pop in to your mind, perhaps saying:
'I don't have the money. No ... I couldn't. It's too late. I'd have to learn too many new things. I don't have the energy. My brain is too lazy. It's too complicated. I don't know how to. I'm too old.'

What if you changed the word 'I,' to another person saying those words? Has some else in your life said to you:
'You don't have the money. It would take you too long. It's too late for you to do anything new. No ... you just can't. You don't have the energy. You're too lazy. It's too complicated for you. Anyway you don't know how to.'

If any of those negative phrases are said or thought repeatedly, either by you to yourself or by someone else in your life, it doesn't take long before you start believing those negative words to be true. And sadly, up to now, that is the way you may have been living your life.

Do you know what is holding YOU back? Is it doubt, fear, worry about money, stress, others, does it seem too complicated, or is there something else you can specify?
Another good way to begin looking at that question is to ask yourself: 'Is my life balanced?'
How Balanced Is Your Life?
Here's a simple exercise to look at that. Write down the following words, or at the least areas on the left.
Fun & Enjoyment - Happiness, Hobbies
Relationships, Spouse - Current or future Life Partner
Business & Career - Job satisfaction, Career path
Family - Children, Parents, Relatives
Social - Friends, Sport, Activities
Health & Vitality - Exercise, Diet, Wellbeing
Prosperity & Money - Savings, Investments
Personal Growth - Personal-space, Spiritual, Artistic, Self Development

1. Grade each of the eight areas, by writing a number from 1--10. (10 being totally satisfied with
that area '1' being lowest.) Do this without analyzing the areas. Write whatever number
comes to your mind first. This is important.
2. Then look at your scores. What are two lowest?
3. Which two areas would you most like to move forward?
4. Moving forward. How would you feel if you could significantly move forward in both?
5. List some actions (even baby steps) you could take to start moving forward, in both areas.
Now revisit those eight areas.

Are there any issues within one or more areas that are holding you back? What answer immediately comes to mind? Write that down. Does fear play a part in any of those areas. Fear plays a huge part in most people's lives and holds them back from moving forward. Fear is often the core issue of why people say it's too late, or too difficult to Start Over.

Fear is a huge issue yet it can be turned around. These are just some areas in which fear plays a massive yet unnecessary role. Do any sound familiar? Fear of being judged, of rejection, of embarrassment, of being alone or abandoned, of failure, of success, of intimacy, of expressing feelings, of the unknown, and fear of not being good enough, and all these can be cleared or reduced, so you can move forward positively.
This Revealing Exercise Removes Some Barriers
One way of quickly removing some barriers that hold people back from Starting Over is this little exercise. There's 'tons of time' to do many things. The average age Western people pass away is 83 based on statistics.
What is your age now?
Now subtract your age from 83.
If you are 45 you have 38 years of your adult life left, so forget thinking how many years you have been on this planet. What are you going to do with those three, nearly four decades remaining? Remember some people live an active life well beyond 83. Why assume that's when you'll die?
Most people have far more of their adult life left than they realize. When you do come to that realization, right away some barriers fall away and you feel a new sense of energy and vigor.

Let's get back to reality:
The world is rapidly changing every few years. A new world presents new challenges... and new opportunities for people of every age. It makes sense if you don't want your life to be the same in 5 years' time, as it is now, it's necessary for you to adopt new strategies for your wealth, health, happiness and overall wellbeing.
Remember, you are in this world once.
If you want to change your life and Start Over, you need to make some changes and take action! No one else will do that for you.
So where would you like to be in five years' time?
What are you going to do ... waste that precious time? Why not DO something you've always wanted to do?
Be a star in your show... the new chapter of your life. You can become an author, you can get a new career, you can live life again, you certainly can Start Over.
Realistically, you probably realize you won't appear on the front cover of a fashion magazine, or be in the movies with your favorite film star, or become an astronaut, but you can become a star in your own unique show.
Your show ... the show of your life. Regardless of your age, you can make this next chapter of your life the best ever. You can do that.

The Best Gift to Give Yourself and Others

The Best Gift to Give Yourself and Others
by Jim Rohn

I'm often asked the question, "How can I best help my children, spouse, family member, staff member, friend, etc., improve/change?" In fact that might be the most frequently asked question I receive, "How can I help change someone else?"

My answer often comes as a surprise and here it is. The key to helping others is to help yourself first. In other words, the best contribution I can make to someone else is my own personal development. If I become 10 times wiser, 10 times stronger, think of what that will do for my adventure as a father... as a grandfather... as a business colleague.
The best gift I can give to you, really, is my ongoing personal development. Getting better, getting stronger, becoming wiser. I think parents should pick this valuable philosophy up. If the parents are okay, the kids have an excellent chance of being okay. Work on your personal development as parents; that's the best gift you can give to your children.

If you have ever ridden in an airplane, then you might have noticed the oxygen compartment located above every seat. There are explicit instructions that say "In case of an emergency, first secure your own oxygen mask and then if you have children with you then secure their masks." Take care of yourself first... then assist your children. If we use that same philosophy throughout our whole parental life, it would be so valuable.

If I learn to create happiness for myself, my children now have an excellent chance to be happy. If I create a unique lifestyle for myself and my spouse, that will be a great example to serve my children.

Self-development enables you to serve, to be more valuable to those around you; for your child... your business... your colleague... your community... your church.

That's why I teach development skills. If you keep refining all the parts of your character, yourself, your health, etc., so that you become an attractive person to the marketplace, you'll attract opportunity. Opportunity will then begin to seek you out. Your reputation will begin to precede you and people will want to do business with you. All of that possibility is created by adopting and applying the philosophy that success is something you attract by continually working on your own personal development.

Shared laughter

Shared laughter allows us to build a communal history with the people we care about. Too often, our relationships are marked by episodes of pain and heartbreak that fill our memories with seriousness even as they bring us closer together. We add a measure of positivity to the bonds we share with others when we laugh with the important people in our lives. When we look back upon our lives that included collective laughter with our loved ones, our memories are positive and heartwarming rather than bittersweet. As we laugh together, we are bonded in humor and the world becomes a brighter place. And when sadness strikes, it is the humor we've shared that will help us heal. When we bond in humor with the people we care about, our relationship will be cemented by our laughter.

Our deepest fear....

Our deepest fear....

is not that we are inadequate,

our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light,

not our darkness, that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?"

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of the Universe.

Your playing small doesn't serve the world.

There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel

insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine as children do.

We were born to make manifest the glory of the Universe that is within us.

It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.

As we let our own light shine,

we give other people permission to do the same;

as we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates

others.

Personal Philosophy Is Like the Set of the Sail

Personal Philosophy Is Like the Set of the Sail
by Jim Rohn

In the process of living, the winds of circumstances blow on us all in an unending flow that touches each of our lives.
We have all experienced the blowing winds of disappointment, despair and heartbreak. Why, then, would each of us, in our own individual ship of life, all beginning at the same point, with the same intended destination in mind, arrive at such different places at the end of the journey? Have we not all been blown by the winds of circumstances and buffeted by the turbulent storms of discontent?

What guides us to different destinations in life is determined by the way we have chosen to set our sail. The way that each of us thinks makes the major difference in where each of us arrives. The major difference is the set of the sail

The same circumstances happen to us all. We have disappointments and challenges. We all have reversals and those moments when, in spite of our best plans and efforts, things just seem to fall apart. Challenging circumstances are not events reserved for the poor, the uneducated or the destitute. The rich and the poor have marital problems. The rich and the poor have the same challenges that can lead to financial ruin and personal despair. In the final analysis, it is not what happens that determines the quality of our lives; it is what we choose to do when we have struggled to set the sail and then discover, after all of our efforts, that the wind has changed directions.

When the winds change, we must change. We must struggle to our feet once more and reset the sail in the manner that will steer us toward the destination of our own deliberate choosing. The set of the sail, how we think and how we respond, has a far greater capacity to destroy our lives than any challenges we face. How quickly and responsibly we react to adversity is far more important than the adversity itself. Once we discipline ourselves to understand this, we will finally and willingly conclude that the great challenge of life is to control the process of our thinking.
Learning to reset the sail with the changing winds rather than permitting ourselves to be blown in directions we did not purposely choose requires the development of a whole new discipline. It involves going to work on establishing a powerful, personal philosophy that will help to influence in a positive way all that we do, think and decide. If we can succeed in this worthy endeavor, the result will be a change in the course of our income, lifestyle and relationships, and in how we feel about the things of value as well as the times of challenge. If we can alter the way we perceive, judge and decide upon the main issues of life, then we can dramatically change our lives.

I've failed over and over and over again in my life

"I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." Michael Jordan - 6-Time NBA Champion Chicago Bulls

Michael Jordan acquired the reputation for being the greatest basketball player of all time. He was inducted into the Basketball hall of fame in 2009. And although Michael acknowledged the numerous times he met failure on the court of his professional sports life, his passionate attitude propelled him into a league of his own. How many of us have given up on our first few failures? Facing failure constructively means one does not give in to failure but revs up for improvement. As you begin your day, commit your attitude to that of Michael Jordan's. Recognize failure, build on EVERY failure that comes along and be SUCCESSFUL in whatever you attempt.
