THE PROJECT

Within each of us lies The Project.

An idea longing to be nourished, cherished, launched and completed.

Writing a novel. Starting an enterprise. Raising a family. Freeing a nation.

Our deepest desire is to do The Project. To express our vision. To carefully and patiently watch it unfold. To present it to those who will benefit by it. And to experience the pride of the job beautifully done.

Yet, a million distractions battle for our attention. And one hundred doubts fill our hearts. And so slowly and subtly, we recite the excuses that construct our reality. And we shelve The Project. Postponing it for a better day.

But postponing The Project is life's greatest lie.

Picasso and Basquiat, Einstein and Edison, Jobs and Jay-Z didn't wait for an ideal day to do their dream. They started. When it was hard. Though they had little. While they were alone.

So many of the world's troubles are symptoms of The Project undone.

Pain is the result of potential denied. And when you avoid The Project, you dishonour your gifts. Your Talents. Your Genius.

A portion of you goes numb. Silent. Quiet. Scared.

The moment you start The Project, everything shifts. Purpose, focus, passion and peace returns to your life. Eyes sparkle. Energy explodes. Inspiration flows. And your days become supported by coincidence, power and peak possibility.

This very day, the first of a fresh year–presents your greatest opportunity. To be a lion not a sheep. To walk with giants versus among the meek. To celebrate your best instead of succumbing to the worst. To lift others up versus tear others down. To pour creativity, mastery, courage and light into a world aching for marks of heroism.

So please, step up. Release all chains. Dispute all doubts. Start The Project. Do the dream. And change the world.

Leaving The Comfort Zone

By overcoming our hesitation and pushing ourselves out of our comfort zones, we affirm to the universe that we are ready to move ahead with our goals. Our fear and hesitation can often cause us to find ways to hold ourselves back if we are not truly ready for the outcome we desire. By choosing to give ourselves a little push and move out of our comfort zones, we begin to feel more empowered about our ability to succeed. Our decisive actions also affirm to the universe that we are ready for better circumstances, and we begin to attract them into our lives. If we gather our courage and heed our desire to move ahead, we can give our goals a great leap forward in progress.

Give yourself permission to start over

  How many times have you had to start over? Perhaps you had to do yet another 'fridge clean-out to help get your eating on track, or maybe you had to delete ol' boy's number…again. Or perhaps you had to take a job after months or years of being self-employed. Whatever the case may be, when you find that you set a goal for yourself and don't quite make it, instead of beating yourself up, press the refresh button and start again.

Recently, I wrote about giving yourself permission to start over. Too often we give ourselves one shot, or maybe three to get something right, when we really need 5 or 10, or however many it takes.

Life is about learning from our success and our failure in order to get to our ultimate goal and bouncing back when things don't quite go according to plan.

Had I not had the courage to start over you would not be reading this today. I wouldn't have decided to write professionally, I wouldn't have pitched article after article after being turned down, and I wouldn't have quit my Executive gig to pursue what I love.

While many people focus on the failure, there is power in the simple act of trying again. As long as you're breathing you have another opportunity to start anew and reach your goals, so why not take it?

Push the restart button, and go after those dreams!

Let’s Go Do It

 

Let's Go Do It. by Jim Rohn To really help people in extraordinary ways, learn to deal in challenges. That is what sports is all about: challenges. That is what music is all about. The challenge to play so well, someone is inspired. The challenge to say it so well, someone gets it. The challenge to be so gifted in language that someone sees it. Insight is unbelievable; only human beings can do this. The man closes his eyes and puts his hands over his eyes and says, "I see it." You say, "No, you don't; you've got your eyes closed." No. There is more than one way to see. And all someone has to do is to see an answer that they can start on immediately, and within six months, their life could start to multiply and change. Within one year, the difference will be extraordinary, and a person who was lost now becomes a person of influence—just because someone helped them to see for the moment what was wrong and the possibility to change it. And then the challenge to go do it and do it well.

Now, here is the best challenge of all: "Let's go do it." Don't always say, "You go do it. You change." But rather, "Let's get healthy. Let's go change the world. Let's build an enterprise. Let's work on this together." See, I always respond better to "let's." Sometimes it is hard to lift yourself out. It's hard to be self-inspired at first. And if someone says, "Come on, let's start a new program." "Come on, let's do exercises." "Come on, let's get healthy." "Come on, let's start something. I'll be there, you be there, and you bring a guest and I'll bring a guest—let's start something." That is so inspiring to have somebody say "let's." "Let's do it." "Let's build a team." "Let's win the championship." "Let's walk off with the trophy." "Let's." Wow, there is something about that that can keep you awake at nights. There is something about that that turns on the juices. There is something about that that reaches deep in the soul. For a person could do extraordinary things when somebody says "Let's." "Let's do it." "I've got two with me already; if you'll be the next one, we can conquer the world." You say, "Whoa, together nobody is a match for us." By yourself, you're vulnerable; but with us, nobody is a match. You say, "Wow! I want to belong to that team." So figure out ways to say "Let's."

Let It Be You

Let It Be You

Each and every day, there are people all around the country and world who are living their dreams. Millionaires are made every day. Families are experiencing tremendous relationships. People are becoming more and more healthy. Lifelong learners are growing intellectually and improving their chances for success.

 
The fact is that living the life of your dreams is possible. People prove that every day. Someone somewhere is going to get rich, get healthy and improve their life. My recommendation is this: Let it be you!

Have you ever wanted to make more money? Have you ever looked at someone who has money and wished that it could be you? People think about getting wealthy all of the time, when only a small percentage actually does. But any of the masses could. Someone is going to start a business. Someone is going to make a great investment. Someone is going to begin the journey to great wealth. So why not let it be you? 

Someone is going to decide to improve their relationships. Someone is going to enjoy love with their family. Someone is going to schedule some meaningful time with their friends. So why not let it be you?

Someone is going to go back to school to improve their life. Someone is going to become a lifelong learner. Someone is going to set a goal to read a book or listen to a CD each week for the next year. So why not let it be you?

Someone is going to look in the mirror and see that they need to lose a little weight and they will make the decision to become healthy. Someone will run their first marathon. Someone will join an aerobics class and improve their health. Why not let it be you?

I think that by now you get the point: Every day people are improving their lives. Whether you do or not doesn´t matter to those who do. They are going to do it, regardless. It is simply a matter of a decision being made. Let that person be you!
You may be asking, "Okay Jim, but how?" Well, let´s cover the very simple actions.

The first and most important is to make a commitment to work on yourself. Are you going to improve or stay the same? No matter what you have achieved, you are at a certain point right now. What you have achieved in the past is fine, but it doesn´t make a difference for the future. The decision about what you will become is made each day and every day. Each day someone is making the decision to better him or herself. Let that person be you!

The second is to make a plan. Once you have decided to become better you will have to have a plan. It doesn´t have to be a long, intricate plan. It can be simple. Save a dollar a day. Walk a mile a day. Read an article a day. That is a simple plan with achievable goals. Someone is going to develop a plan that will take them into the future of their dreams. Let it be you!

 
The third is to begin to act. All of the great ideas, without action, become stale and useless. The key to turning dreams into reality is action. People who have great ideas are a dime a dozen. People who act on their dreams and ideas are the select few, but they are the ones who gain the wealth and wisdom that is available. Someone will act today. Let it be you.

My encouragement to you is to stop looking at others who live the good life, wishing that you were as well, and instead begin to commit to your improvement, develop a plan and act on it. Someone is going to. Let it be you!
